Agartala, Oct 5 (UNI)
Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (TTDCL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a Guwahati based educational research group for setting up of State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM) in Agartala.
Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy today said that the agreement was signed for 15 years intending to launch short-term courses on tourism and hospitality management from January next year. In the next phase, from April there is a plan to start a degree level course on tourism, which has appeared to be one of the most prospective subjects for Tripura at present.
“We have laid down a prospective plan for tourism development for the state by upgrading the facilities and introducing some new spots to attract the tourists from outside. The state has already developed the hotel and transport facilities for the tourists and every month new feathers are added to the tourism sector.” Singharoy said.
