Tripura Tourism signs MoU with Infovalley to build Institute of Hotel Management

AGARTALA The Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited has signed an agreement with Guwahati-based Infovalley Educational Research Pvt Ltd to launch the State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM) in Agartala. Tourism Minister Pranajit Singh Roy was present at the signing ceremony at the Gitanjali Tourism Guest House. The agreement was signed by Managing Director of TTDCL – Tarit Kanti Chakma and Chairman Sanjay Aditya Singh Infovalley Educational Research Pvt Ltd. The agreement was signed for 15 years.

The short-term course will be introduced at the State Institute of Hotel Management from January 2022. Degree courses will start from April 2022. In the first year, 60 students will get admission in Hotel and Hospitality Degree Course and Hotel Management Degree Course. In addition, 150 students will have the opportunity to study in the first year of 30 seats in these 5 diploma courses in Food Production, Food and Beverage Services, Bakery and Confectionery, Front Office Operations and Housekeeping. After signing the agreement, Tourism Minister Pranajit Singh Roy thanked Infovalley Educational Research Pvt. Ltd. for coming forward to run the new educational institution. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb were sincere in developing tourism. This new educational institution will play a helpful role in the development of tourism industry in the state, adding to this he said that the government and the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation would extend all possible cooperation in running the organization.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Aditya Singh, Chairman of Infovalley Educational Research Pvt. Ltd. had outlined the organization through a PowerPoint presentation. He said that in addition to administrative work, the educational institution will look after the education, training and employment of the students.
