SIHM is an initiative by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and implemented by Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (TTDCL).
Guwahati In a historic moment, government of Tripura has signed a concession agreement with Infovalley Educational & Research (P) Ltd as their Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to run the State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM).
The signing took place on October 4 and the first sessions of the classes are to start from January 2022. SIHM is an initiative by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and implemented by Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (TTDCL).
Exploring the potential of tourism and hospitality of the region and beyond, the concession agreement was signed to facilitate top class hospitality studies in Tripura and the nearby states.
Encouraging this initiative, the Tripura minister of Tourism, Pranjit Singha Roy said, “This project will lay the foundation of progressive employment program and eventually will significantly impact many lives of our youths. With the setting up of the State IHM, we are also hopeful to boost our local economy by engaging a skilled workforce.”
“Infovalley Educational & Research (P) Ltd, under its brand Jettwings with 15+ years of expertise in the field of tourism & hospitality studies, is likely to be the best partners for operating this SIHM and we are hopeful to make this SIHM to be in the top 10 SIHMs of India,” Roy added.
Praising the collaboration of this magnitude, MD of TTDCL, TK Chakma, opined, “The need of a state IHM in Tripura is an appropriate step to counter the unemployment crisis. Through this engagement with Infovalley, we are sure to provide a platform for our youths to make themselves eligible for employment without looking for opportunities outside Tripura.”
He further added, “This will also be a centre of cultural confluence as students from other parts of the country will get to know about the indigenous ethnicities and our cultural heritages that will enrich their learning experience.”

With an objective to offer world class infrastructure and education, SIHM, Tripura will be turned into a centre of excellence for hotel and hospitality management studies”, said Sanjay Aditya Singh, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Infovalley Educational & Research (P) Ltd and the Chairman of Jettwings.
“Further, this association will prove to be a milestone for the employment generation in this region and thus present itself as an opportunity for the youths without any socio-economic discrimination”, he added.
Explaining the nuances of the courses and what it would mean for those planning to apply for it, Singh also said, “We have signed a concession agreement with Tripura Tourism, GoT at Geetanjali Tourism Guest House on Monday. The idea is to run and operate the SIHM which would cater to 6,00 youths every year. The proposed SIHM would offer various courses, ranging from B Sc in Hotel and Hospitality Management, B Sc in Culinary Arts & Catering Technology, 5 Diploma Programs and 2 PG Programs in Hotel & Hospitality Management”.
